Ingredients/Components
- lemon juice - 1 item
- dash of ground cinnamon - 1 item
- medium cooking apples - 2 item
- acorn squash
- low or reduced calorie pancake syrup - 2 Tbsp
How to make squash and apple bake:
Preheat oven to 350°. Cut squash into 1/2-inch thick round slices. Core apples. Cut into 1/2-inch thick slices. Brush apples with lemon juice to prevent browning. In a 1-quart casserole dish, layer squash and apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon (2 tablespoons of raisins can be added, if desired). Bake covered at 350° for 50 minutes or until squash is tender. Before serving, drizzle with the 2 tablespoons syrup. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Squash, Apple, Side dish.
