Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- self-rising flour - 4 c
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water - 2 c
- melted shortening or 1 1/2 sticks margarine - 3/4 c
How to make spoon rolls:
Dissolve yeast in water and mix together in a large bowl with all other ingredients. Store covered in refrigerator and use as desired. Batter will keep for days.Spoon batter into oiled muffin tins and bake for 20 minutes or until done. Can be rolled out and cut as biscuits. Do not have to wait to rise.
