  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 2 c
  • plain corn meal - 1 c

How to make spoon bread:

Pour boiling water over corn meal, salt, sugar and flour. Mix well. Add eggs, baking powder and milk. Mix well. Melt butter or margarine in casserole and pour in mixture. Blend in butter. Cook 45 minutes in a 400° oven.
