- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 2 c
- eggs, beaten - 3 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- heavy cream - 1 c
- butter, melted - 2 Tbsp
- cornmeal - 1 c
How to make spoon bread:
Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium saucepan, mix water and cornmeal. Bring to a boil and cook 5 minutes. Cool to lukewarm. Add eggs and remaining ingredients. Beat thoroughly; pour into a well-greased pan and bake 30 to 40 minutes or until puffed and golden. Serve as an alternative to bread.Recipe categories: Breads, < 15 mins, Side dish.
