  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • 8 oz - 1 c
  • hamburger meat - 1 lb
  • chopped onion - 1/2 item
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • can tomatoes, chopped up - 1 oz
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti; drain. Stir margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 10-inch pie pan.

In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender and ground beef is browned. Drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat thoroughly.

Spread cottage cheese over bottom of spaghetti crust. Fill pie with tomato, meat mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake 5 minutes, until cheese melts.
