Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
  • tomato paste - 6 oz
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • can tomatoes - 8 oz
  • well beaten eggs - 2 item

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti and drain. Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in buttered 10-inch pie plate.

In skillet, cook beef and onion until browned; drain. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat through. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of crust. Fill pie with meat mixture. Bake, uncovered, in 350° oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake until it melts. Makes 6 servings.
