Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cottage cheese - 1 c
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Stir butter or margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over top of spaghetti crust.

Cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender and meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and spices. Heat through. Turn mixture onto spaghetti crust. Bake uncovered at 350° for 20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top. Bake 5 minutes longer. Serves 6.
