Southern pecan pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- unbaked 9-inch pastry shell - 1 item
- melted butter - 1 Tbsp
- pecan halves
- dark corn syrup - 1 c
How to make southern pecan pie:
Beat together sugar, syrup, salt, flour and eggs. Add vanilla, butter and pecans. Pour into unbaked shell. Turn the rounded side of some pecans up. Bake in a 300° oven for about 1 hour or until filling is just set. Cool before cutting. Pie can be baked a day ahead and crust will not become soggy.
