Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 6 c
- warm water
- yeast - 1 pkg
- corn oil - 1/2 c
- Starter - 1 c
- Let stand 8 to 10 hours
- warm potato water 105~ to 115~ * - 2 c
How to make sourdough bread:
Mix well and cover with waxed paper. Let stand 8 to 10 hours. Punch down and divide into 3 equal parts. Place in pans sprayed with Pam. Brush tops with melted butter and cover with waxed paper. Let rise 8 to 10 hours. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.Starter:2 c. flour1 pkg. yeast1 Tbsp. sugar2 c. warm potato water (105~ to 115~) * *Cook 2 diced potatoes until tender in 3 cups water; drain, reserving water for Starter.Mix ingredients, cover and let stand in warm place, 80° to 85°, for 48 hours.
