Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- eggs, slightly beaten - 3 item
How to make soft custard:
Scald milk in a saucepan over low heat or in a double boiler. Beat eggs and add to scalded milk, stirring constantly. Place in top of a double boiler and cook over simmering water until the custard thickens. Let set in a pan of cold water or by pouring the custard into a chilled bowl. Stir in vanilla. Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate. Yields 4 servings.Recipe categories: Desserts, Puddings and mousses, Egg.
