Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- cold water - 3 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 3/4 tsp
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- Crisco - 7 Tbsp
- Place in a 9-inch pie pan
How to make shoo-fly pie:
Make crust and roll out. Place in a 9-inch pie pan. Do not prick.Filling:3/4 c. syrup (1/2 orange label Brer Rabbit molasses and 1/2 Log Cabin syrup)3/4 c. boiling water3/4 tsp. baking soda Crumbs:1 1/2 c. flour1/2 tsp. salt1/2 c. butter1/2 tsp. baking powder1/4 c. brown sugar1/4 c. granulated sugar1/2 tsp. cinnamon Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Combine molasses, Log Cabin syrup and boiling water. Add baking soda and stir well. Add 1/2 of crumb mixture to this liquid and pour into crust. Sprinkle remaining crumbs over top.
