Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 6 c
- water - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- cooking oil - 1 item
- Bisquick - 2 c
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- milk, scalded - 2 c
How to make scones:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water. Mix milk, salt and yeast well. Then add flour, Bisquick, sugar, shortening and baking soda. Mix all ingredients well and let rise until double in size. Roll out, cut and deep fry in oil in a 12-inch Dutch oven.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Scones.
