Ingredients/Components
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- brown or white sugar optional - 1/2 c
- cracker or dry bread crumbs
- tomatoes, skinned and quartered - 5 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- eggs, beaten light - 3 item
- creamed corn - 2 c
- sugar - 1 2
- bread or cracker crumbs - 1 c
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 2 c
- cream - 1/2 c
How to make scalloped tomatoes:
Stir all ingredients into well-beaten eggs. Pour into greased oven dish. Place dish in pan with some water. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until custard is set. Serve hot.Found in an old recipe book.
