  • onion, chopped - 1 item
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • brown or white sugar optional - 1/2 c
  • cracker or dry bread crumbs
  • tomatoes, skinned and quartered - 5 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs, beaten light - 3 item
  • creamed corn - 2 c
  • sugar - 1 2
  • bread or cracker crumbs - 1 c
  • melted butter - 2 Tbsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • cream - 1/2 c

How to make scalloped tomatoes:

Stir all ingredients into well-beaten eggs. Pour into greased oven dish. Place dish in pan with some water. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until custard is set. Serve hot.
