Ingredients/Components

  • pepper - 1 item
  • grated cheese - 1/2 c
  • small onion, sliced - 1 item
  • bread crumbs, buttered - 1/2 c
  • tomatoes canned or fresh - 3 c
  • medium cucumber, pared and sliced - 1 item

How to make scalloped tomatoes:

Into a greased baking dish or casserole, place a layer of tomatoes. Add half the cucumber and onion slices and half the bread crumbs. Repeat with more tomatoes and remaining cucumbers, onions and crumbs. Top with tomatoes and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in moderate oven, 375°, for 40 minutes.
