Scalloped oysters
Ingredients/Components
- melted butter - 1/2 c
- cream - 2 c
- cracker crumbs - 1 c
- medium oysters - 1 pt
How to make scalloped oysters:
Pour melted butter over the cracker crumbs (stir well). Spread 1/3 of the cracker crumbs on the bottom of the buttered casserole. Cover with 1/2 of the oysters (can either be cut up or whole, if you prefer the whole oyster). Then add another 1/3 of the cracker mix and the remaining 1/2 of the oysters. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover all this with last 1/3 of the cracker mix. Pour the 2 cups of cream over this entire casserole. Bake in a moderate 350° oven for about 40 minutes or until browned on top and around the edges.Recipe categories: Main dish, Scallops, Casseroles.
