Ingredients/Components

  • olive oil - 1 item
  • barley - 1/2 c
  • hot Italian sausage - 1 lb
  • large can of tomatoes - 1 item
  • cans of water from tomato can - 2 item
  • small cans of mixed vegetables - 2 item
  • Oregano and tarragon to taste - 1 item
  • colored pasta twirls - 2 c

How to make sausage soup:

Brown sausage in small amount of olive oil. Add tomatoes and water and then vegetables, barley and seasonings.

Cook for one hour. Add pasta twirls and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

(Can also be made in pressure cooker in 10 minutes and then add pasta and simmer for additional 10 minutes.)
