New england clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- tsp salt - 2 item
- tsp pepper - 1/4 item
- c butter - 1/4 item
- strips raw bacon - 4 item
- c cooked potatoes cut up - 2 item
- 1/2 c chopped green pepper - 1 item
- pints chicken stock - 3 item
- 1/2 c diced clams - 1 item
- 1/2 c light cream - 1 item
- c cornstarch-blend with 1/2 c water - 1/2 item
How to make new england clam chowder:
Simmer vegetables in bacon until they are translucent. Add seasonings, clams, melted butter. Bring heat to high, then add chicken stock, potatoes, and light cream. Bring to a boil, then thicken with cornstarch mixture.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Clams.
