Sausage and egg casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- grated Cheddar cheese - 2 3
- slices white bread - 14 item
- black pepper to taste - 1 item
- bulk pork sausage - 1 lb
- to 8 large eggs - 6 item
How to make sausage and egg casserole:
Remove crust from bread and cube. Arrange 1/2 of the bread in buttered 13 x 9-inch dish. Brown sausage; drain. Crumble sausage on top of bread. Sprinkle 1/2 of the grated cheese on top. Arrange rest of bread on top. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Beat eggs, milk, mustard and pepper together; pour over bread mixture. Bake at 350° for 1 hour (until set).Instead of pork, you may use ham and mushrooms, Canadian bacon or crabmeat and mushrooms.
Make day before; cover with foil and refrigerate.
