Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar - 5 Tbsp

How to make sand tarts:

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add flour, nuts and vanilla. Mix well. Pinch off pieces the size of a marble and roll about finger size. Shape into crescents. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not brown.
