Ingredients/Components

  • brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 2 tsp
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • oil - 1 Tbsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • soy sauce - 4 Tbsp
  • crushed red pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • boneless pork chops - 4 item
  • dry sherry or beef broth - 4 Tbsp

How to make san francisco pork chops:

Sauce:2 tsp. oil4 Tbsp. dry sherry or beef broth4 Tbsp. soy sauce2 Tbsp. brown sugar1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper2 tsp. cornstarch2 Tbsp. water Trim fat off chops. Heat oil in skillet; brown chops on both sides. Remove chops; add more oil if needed. Saute garlic for a minute, being careful not to burn.

Combine oil, sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper in a bowl. Place chops back in skillet with garlic; pour sauce over chops. Cover tightly. Simmer over low heat until chops are tender and cooked through, about 30 to 35 minutes. Serve with thin spaghetti or noodles, mixed with sauce. Serves 4.
