Rice stuffing
Ingredients/Components
- parsley flakes - 1/2 tsp
- sage - 1/4 tsp
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- poultry seasoning - 1 tsp
- uncooked rice - 1 c
- canola or olive oil - 2 Tbsp
- chicken broth, unsalted - 2 c
- salt or salt substitute to taste - 1 item
How to make rice stuffing:
Cook rice, celery and onion in oil in a large frypan, stir occasionally, until rice is lightly browned.Stir in broth and seasonings. Heat to boiling, reduce heat. Simmer, covered until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes. Use to stuff a 4 lb. chicken or double recipe for 8 lb. turkey.
Adjust seasonings to your own taste. Great for people with allergies.
