Rice stuffing



  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • sage - 1 Tbsp
  • medium onion - 1 item
  • hamburger - 1/2 lb
  • rice - 1 c
  • sausage - 1 lb
  • wild rice - 1 c
  • ground parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • large can or bottle chopped mushrooms - 1 item

How to make rice stuffing:

Crumble sausage and hamburger. Add chopped onion, celery, salt, sage and parsley. Saute in large skillet or roaster until all are well cooked. Add rice, mushrooms and chicken broth. Add enough water to steam rice until well done. Cook on low heat; stir occasionally and add more poultry seasoning to your taste. This will serve 12 to 15.

I use Uncle Ben's wild rice with herb seasoning, then add white rice and more sage and parsley to taste.
