  • cinnamon - 1/2 1
  • butter or margarine
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 2/3 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • buttermilk or sour milk - 1 c
  • chopped pecans optional - 1/2 c
  • diced raw rhubarb - 1 to
  • almond flavoring vanilla may be substituted - 1 tsp

How to make rhubarb bread:

Topping (Optional):2 Tbsp. butter or margarine2 Tbsp. sugar2 Tbsp. flour1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon Combine ingredients in order. Pour into greased loaf pans(s); one large or 2 small. Add topping, if desired, after mixing topping ingredients. Bake at 325° for 50 minutes for small pans or for 60 minutes for large pan.
