  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • flour - 8 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • lukewarm water - 1/4 c
  • sweet milk - 1 qt
  • quick acting yeast - 1 item
  • additional flour - 1 c

How to make refrigerator rolls:

Scald milk with sugar and shortening. Then add the yeast which has been dissolved thoroughly in 1/4 cup warm water. Add 8 cups flour, mixing well. Let rise until doubled in bulk. Add salt, baking powder and soda. Add enough flour, about 1 cup to make a soft dough. Place in a bowl and grease top of dough. Cover. Place in refrigerator. Makes rolls as wanted, also can be used for doughnuts. Will keep for a week, in refrigerator and makes 4 dozen.
