Refrigerator pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- cider vinegar - 4 c
- celery seed
- mustard seed
- turmeric
- sliced onions - 3 item
How to make refrigerator pickles:
Mix together sugar, vinegar, salt and spices to a cold syrup. Do not heat. Wash and sterilize 4 pint jars. Slice onions equally into jars. Wash and slice cucumbers to fill jars. Stir syrup well and pour over cucumbers and onions. Screw on lids. Refrigerate at least 5 days before using. Will keep in refrigerator at least 9 months.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Summer, Seasonal.
