Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- plain flour
- red food coloring - 1 oz
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Wesson oil
- Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla and vinegar
How to make red velvet cake:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla and vinegar. Mix thoroughly. Add food coloring and mix well. Spread batter in greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until done. Remove from pan; let cool.Frosting:1/2 c. margarine1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box powdered sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Cream margarine and cream cheese. Mix well.
