- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- oil - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- plain flour
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- box sifted confectioners sugar - 1 item
- Add vinegar and food coloring; beat well
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream sugar and oil; add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar and food coloring; beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add alternating with milk. Add vanilla, beat well. Pour into cake pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Frosting:1 stick oleo1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 tsp. vanilla1 box sifted confectioners sugar1 c. chopped nuts Cream oleo with cream cheese.
