- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- oil - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- cake flour - 2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Combine buttermilk and vinegar
How to make red velvet cake:
Sift together flour, cocoa, salt and soda. Combine buttermilk and vinegar. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and vinegar mixture and beat well.
