Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- nuts - 1 c
- plain sifted flour
- box powdered sugar - 1 lb
- Wesson oil
- Beat well
- bottle red food coloring - 1 oz
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream sugar, oil and eggs. Beat well. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Mix coloring and cocoa; add coloring mixture to egg and beat well until blended. Cook in 3 cake pans at 350° for 35 minutes or until done.Icing:1 stick butter1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 lb. box powdered sugar1 c. nuts1 Tbsp. vanilla Cream butter and cream cheese.
