  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1 c
  • cocoa - 2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • red cake coloring - 2 oz
  • Beat together butter and sugar for 5 minutes

How to make red cake:

Mix together vinegar and soda; set aside. Beat together butter and sugar for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time. Add the remaining ingredients. Grease and flour 3 round cake pans. Bake at 350° for about 20 to 25 minutes.Frosting:1 c. milk3 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. butter1/2 c. shortening1 c. sugar vanilla Cook milk with flour. Set aside to cool. Stir once while cooling. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth. Add cooled mixture and beat until creamy smooth.
