  • chopped tomato - 1 item
  • cloves garlic - 3 item
  • pepper to taste - 1 item
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • onion, sliced - 1 item
  • cumin - 1 tsp
  • slices bacon - 8 item
  • taco seasoning - 1 pkg
  • pinto beans - 2 lb
  • cubes chicken bouillon - 2 item
  • onion, chopped optional - 1 item
  • bunch cilantro - 1 item
  • jalapeno peppers to taste sliced, canned - 1 item

How to make ranchero beans:

Clean beans by rinsing. In large pan, cover with water. Add taco seasoning, garlic, bouillon, onion, salt, cumin and pepper. Bring to a boil, then lower to medium heat and cook for 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender. Add water occasionally, if necessary.

Fry bacon; chop into bite size pieces. Drain all but about 3 tablespoons of bacon grease. Saute cilantro, tomato and onion with bacon. Add to the beans. Add jalapeno peppers.
