Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 6 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • vanilla flavoring - 1 tsp
  • self-rising flour - 1 c
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • boxes raisins - 2 item

How to make raisin cake:

Place butter in mixing bowl in oven and warm to soften. Blend in sugar. Add eggs one at a time while mixing slowly. Add salt, flavoring and flour, blending well. Stir in raisins with mixing spoon. Batter will be stiff. This prevents raisins from settling to bottom. Makes a large tube cake. Bake at 300° for 2 hours.
