- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla flavoring - 2 tsp
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- plain flour
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- box 10x sugar - 1 item
- Add sugar
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream butter. Add sugar. Add eggs. Beat until fluffy. Make paste of cocoa and vinegar. Add to creamed mixture. Sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Blend well. Add vanilla and food coloring. Bake in three layer pans at 350° until done.Cream Cheese Icing:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 stick butter1 box 10x sugar2 tsp. vanilla flavoring Cream all ingredients together until smooth.
