Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- heavy cream - 3/4 c
- pinch of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- grated Swiss cheese - 1 c
- frozen 9-inch pie shell
- pinch of nutmeg - 1 item
- bacon, fried until crisp and crumbled - 1/2 lb
How to make quiche lorraine:
Scatter bacon and cheese over bottom of crust. Prepare basic custard; beat until blended the eggs, milk, cream, butter, flour, salt, cayenne pepper and nutmeg. Pour custard over bacon and cheese. Bake in preheated 375° oven, about 40 minutes or until custard is firm and puffy and lightly browned. Serve warm or let it cool.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Main dish, Savory pies.
