Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 5 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 item
- ginger - 1 item
- light cream
- finely chopped onion - 1/2 3/4
- cayenne pepper - 1 item
- deep dish pie shell - 1 item
- bacon, cooked and drained - 1/2 lb
- Gruyere cheese, grated you can use Swiss - 1/2 lb
How to make quiche:
Mix slightly beaten eggs with light cream and salt. Cook onion about 5 minutes in 1 tablespoon butter; add onion, cheese and crumbled bacon to egg mixture. Season with nutmeg, cayenne pepper and dash of ginger. Precook pie shell for about 8 to 10 minutes. Pour mixture into shell. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake 10 minutes at 450°; lower heat to 325° and bake 30 to 45 minutes or until center is firm.Recipe categories: Egg, Cheese, Main dish.
