  • salt - 1/2 tsp

  • soda - 2 tsp
  • pumpkin - 2 c
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • Cream well with electric mixer, then add the sugar, Crisco and eggs

How to make pumpkin cake:

Combine the pumpkin, flour, salt, cinnamon and soda. Cream well with electric mixer, then add the sugar, Crisco and eggs. Beat until well blended. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes in a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch pan or 2 round pans.Frosting:1 stick oleo or butter2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped pecans Cream the oleo or butter and cream cheese with electric mixer well. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Mix well. Frost cool cake and garnish with pecan halves.
