- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- Crisco - 1/3 c
- lemon extract - 1 tsp
- mace - 1/4 tsp
How to make pound cake:
Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add dry ingredients and milk alternating to creamed mixture, beating after each addition. Add flavorings and mace. Spoon batter in a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325° and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool and remove from pan.
