Chocolate pound cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 3 c
• eggs - 5 item
• vanilla - 1 Tbsp
• milk - 1 c
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 3 c
• butter - 1/2 lb
• cocoa - 4 Tbsp
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• Crisco - 1/2 c
• box confectioners sugar - 1 lb
• Add sugar and eggs
• chocolate semi-sweet - 2 sq
• cream as needed - 1 item

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream butter and shortening together. Add sugar and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add vanilla. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Bake in a 9 or 10-inch tube pan at 325° for about 80 minutes.

(For plain pound cake, leave off cocoa and 1/2 cup of sugar.)Chocolate Icing:1/4 c. butter2 sq. chocolate (semi-sweet)1 lb. box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla cream as needed Melt butter and chocolate. Add sugar, vanilla and enough cream to spread.
