Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- Crisco shortening - 1 c
- eggs - 6 item
- cake flour - 2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- almond flavoring - 1/2 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
How to make pound cake:
Cream together the sugar and shortening. Then add the 6 eggs (1 or 2 at a time), beating entire time. Blend in the flour, flavorings and salt. Cook in a well-greased and floured tube pan. Spoon the mixture into the pan; don't pour. Bake at 350° until toothpick comes out clean. Do not overbake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
