- sugar
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening
- cake flour - 3 c
- almond flavoring - 1 tsp
- can flaked coconut - 1 item
- water or milk - 1 c
How to make coconut pound cake:
Beat shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Add milk. Combine salt, baking powder and flour. Add to sugar mixture. Add flavorings and coconut. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Place on rack; cool. Cover tightly until cold.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
