- sugar
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 6 to
- cooking oil - 1 item
- eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
- hot mashed potatoes - 2 c
How to make potato doughnuts:
Combine in a bowl the first 4 ingredients. Stir into mixture the butter, soda, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and flour to form a soft ball. On a floured surface, pat dough to 3/4-inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch floured doughnut cutter. In electric skillet, heat 1 inch of oil to 350°. Fry 2 minutes per side.
