  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1/2 c
  • milk - 1 item
  • stick margarine - 1/2 item
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • poppy seed - 1/2 c
  • white cake mix - 1 pkg
  • large can milk - 1 item
  • Then make according to box directions

How to make poppy seed cake:

Soak poppy seed in amount of liquid the white cake mix calls for, substituting milk for water. Then make according to box directions. Top with frosting.Poppy Seed Cake Frosting:1 Tbsp. cornstarch3/4 c. sugar1 large can milk2 egg yolks1/2 stick margarine1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped pecans Combine cornstarch and sugar and beat together with milk and egg yolks. Add margarine and cook all until thick in microwave, about 5 minutes. Stir every 2 minutes. Cool before spreading on cake. Top with chopped pecans.
