Pistachio dessert
Ingredients/Components
- chopped walnuts - 2 c
- flour - 1 c
- melted margarine - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- Philadelphia cream cheese - 8 oz
- carton Birds Eye Cool Whip - 1 oz
- pkg - 2 oz
- milk - 3 c
How to make pistachio dessert:
Layer #1: Mix together the flour, melted margarine and 1 cup of the nuts. Spread mixture into an 8 x 12-inch pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350°. Cool to room temperature.Layer #2: Beat well the powdered sugar and cream cheese in a mixer. Stir into this 1 cup of Cool Whip. Pour over layer #1.
Layer #3: Shake or beat well the pudding mix and milk, and pour over layer #2.
Layer #4: Spread remainder of the Cool Whip over layer #3, and top with remaining cup of chopped nuts. Refrigerate overnight.
A can of cherry pie mix can be substituted for the pistachio pudding for a change.
