Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 6 oz
- milk - 3/4 c
- butter or margarine
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- firmly packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 4 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- maraschino cherries - 1 c
How to make cherry chip bars:
Frosting:1/2 c. butter or margarine4 c. powdered sugar4 Tbsp. milk1 tsp. vanilla Heat oven to 325°. In large bowl combine first 9 ingredients. Blend until moistened at low speed; beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in cherries, chocolate pieces and walnuts. Spread into ungreased 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown. Cool. In medium saucepan brown butter over low heat. Add remaining frosting ingredients; blend until smooth.
