- sugar - 1 c
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- persimmon pulp - 1 c
How to make persimmon bread:
Peel persimmons, remove pits, if any, and sieve enough pulp to make 1 cup. Cream shortening until soft; add sugar gradually; then add eggs and pulp. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Bake in an 8 x 11-inch loaf pan at 325° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Quick breads.
