Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- egg whites - 3 item
- enough cold water to dissolve - 1 item
How to make perfect meringue:
Combine cornstarch dissolved in cold water with boiling water in saucepan. Cook until thick and clear. Cool completely. Beat egg whites just until frothy. Add sugar and salt. When thick, add cooled cornstarch mixture and beat just until peaks form. Cover pie filling, seal edges and bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
