Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch
- water - 1/4 c
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soy sauce - 2 tsp
- minced onion - 2 Tbsp
- black pepper - 1/8 tsp
- green peppers, diced - 2 item
- round steak - 1 lb
- canned beef bouillon - 1 c
- drained canned tomatoes - 1 c
How to make pepper steak:
Melt shortening in frying pan. Cut meat into 1-inch strips. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place meat, onion and garlic in frying pan and brown. Add green pepper and bouillon. Cover and cook 30 minutes. Add tomatoes; simmer 5 minutes. Combine cornstarch, soy sauce and water. Add to meat mixture. Cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
