  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1/8 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • pecan pieces - 1 c

How to make pecan squares:

Preheat oven to 325°. Beat egg until foamy. Beat in brown sugar and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda; add to first mixture. Mix in pecan pieces. Spread in well sprayed baking pans. Bake until top has dull crust. Cut into squares while still warm. Cool, then remove from pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Note: Ice with Caramel Icing.
