  • Crisco or lard - 1 c
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • peanut butter - 1 c
  • sifted flour - 3 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture. Roll into 1-inch balls; roll in extra sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press lightly with floured potato masher or fork. Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
