Peanut brittle
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 tsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- hot water - 1/2 c
- white Karo syrup - 1 c
- peanuts - 2 c
How to make peanut brittle:
Combine in 4-quart saucepan sugar, water and syrup; cook until it is 230° (need a candy thermometer). Over medium heat, add butter or margarine. Cook until it is 302°. Remove from heat; add soda and vanilla. Beat until foaming reaches peak; pour into greased cookie sheet (prepared earlier) and spread thin. Let cool and break into pieces.
